A NOTE FROM MARIE
Finding words in your own language
The words that feel closest to your experience may come in English, French, or both.
The way you describe a feeling can change with the language you are speaking. Some memories have words in one language that do not come as easily in another. You may also find that parts of your story are tied to family, culture, or experiences that take time to explain.
I offer therapy in English and French because the language of a conversation matters. I want you to have room to say what you mean, pause when a word does not quite fit, and explain something in the way that feels most natural to you. You do not need a polished version of your story before we begin.
Being understood also means more than finding a direct translation. It means making space for your background, relationships, and the ways you see the world. I will ask questions when I need to understand better, and you can tell me when my words miss what you meant.
Whether you prefer one language or move between both, our work can begin with curiosity and respect. The first conversation is an opportunity to see how it feels to talk together and what you hope to find in therapy.
You can start in the words that feel like yours.
If you'd like to pay directly, a short note about my availability is enough to begin.
