UNDERSTANDING YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS
Choosing how to pay for therapy is personal, too. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and understand your options before we begin.
Self-pay simply means paying me directly for your sessions instead of using insurance. For some people, this makes getting started feel more straightforward. Here are a few reasons you might consider it.
The way you feel with your therapist matters. With self-pay, you can choose based on connection, approach, and language without depending on an insurance network. If your health plan changes, paying directly can also help you continue with the same therapist.
For sessions you pay for directly, there are no insurance claims or coverage approvals to navigate. You and I can talk about a pace for our work that respects your needs, your goals, and your budget.
When you pay me directly, I don’t submit an insurance claim with your diagnosis or treatment details. I still keep clinical records and follow the confidentiality rules described in my privacy notice.
Read my privacy practicesMy self-pay fee is $120 for a 60-minute online session. I accept major debit and credit cards, with payment due directly after the session. You can request a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before scheduling.
Read about Good Faith EstimatesYour budget matters. With self-pay, you are responsible for the full session fee, and I don’t provide superbills for insurance reimbursement. It’s worth comparing that fee with your actual insurance cost, including your deductible and any copay or coinsurance. I’m happy to explain how my payment options work.
You don’t have to decide before reaching out. You can select “Both insurance and self-pay” or “I’m not sure yet” on my appointment inquiry form. I’ll reach out to answer your payment questions and help arrange a time for your first session. Whichever option you choose, I’ll bring the same care and attention to our work together.
Let’s arrange your first sessionTo get started, send me a short message to ask about availability and scheduling an appointment. In your first session, we'll get acquainted, talk about what's bringing you in, and discuss your goals. After you schedule a session, I'll send a Sessions Health invitation for your intake forms and a Psychology Today video link before we meet online.
Please give me at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel. Late cancellations and missed appointments each carry a $100 fee. This also applies to appointments booked through Grow Therapy.
Send me a quick appointment inquiry. I’ll reach out to talk through next steps and find a time that works for your first session.
If you do not have insurance or are not using it, you have the right to request a written Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of non-emergency care, including related items and services. You can ask for an estimate before scheduling. If a bill is at least $400 more than your estimate, you may be able to dispute it. Save a copy of your estimate.
