A NOTE FROM MARIE

When worry takes up too much room

When your mind keeps moving through every possible outcome, it can be difficult to rest in the present.

Worry can make an ordinary choice feel urgent. You may replay a conversation, prepare for a problem that has not happened, or find yourself asking “What if?” long after the day is over. From the outside, you may still be doing everything expected of you while your mind rarely feels quiet.

Sometimes people tell you to stop thinking about it. If that were easy, you probably would have done it already. I would rather be curious about what your worry is trying to protect, what seems uncertain, and what happens when you feel responsible for every possible outcome.

Together, we can slow the conversation down. We might look at a pattern that keeps returning, separate what needs attention now from what belongs to a possible future, and consider a small next step that fits your situation. The goal is not to judge you for having worried thoughts.

If worry is taking up so much space that it is hard to focus, sleep, or enjoy parts of your life, you do not have to wait until you have solved it alone before reaching out. You can begin by telling me what a day with that worry has been like.

We can start with what feels heavy today.
